Abstract
Subject of this research is to analyse and explore possibilities for application of specialized management disciplines in function of improvement of Serbian economy competitiveness and, by doing this, to create foundation for adequate strategic management in organizations. In World Economic Forum report for year 2009/10, Serbia takes 93rd place (from 133 countries) and made 8 places fall comparing to previous year. Competitiveness Index, defined by World Economic Forum, is one of the most accepted instruments for comparison and assessment of competitiveness, and it enables valuation of work success in economy of certain country. Through procedure of carrying out research activities on this project, the causes of weak competitiveness need to be scrutinized, along with their relation to management disciplines. As a project result, the recommendations for improvement of specialized management disciplines application in organizations will be created, and the new foundation for improvement of doing business and work results of single organizations, as well as competitiveness of Serbian economy as a whole, will be formed. It is expected that recommended researches lead to definition of general strategic methodological frame and appropriate managerial procedures for efficient managerial action in real situations.
