Abstract
The main idea behind the proposed application is to develop innovative electronic components and systems embedded in consumer goods and products related to food industry, safety and RF/medical electronics. The realization of the components will be based on both inorganic and organic technologies. Proposed application can be seen as a natural follow-up of the previous activities related to building research capacities of the project team through European projects, (in particular, through coordination and implementation of FP6 INCO (ReCiMiCo) – 2007 and FP7 REGPOT (APOSTILLE) – 2010). First two years of the project will be focused to the rigid substrate (fabricated using non-organic technologies, like the of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) technology, Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic (LTCC) and the monolithic silicon technology), while the last two years will be dedicated to the improvement of the results obtained in first two years and exploration of feasible solutions in the flexible substrates. The expected results of the project include realization of low cost sensors, simple electronic devices and embedded electronic systems based on the rigid and flexible substrate in the form of smart labels for detection and monitoring of the food safety, SMART RFID tags for theft prevention, monitoring of products during distribution, products bar codes, product branding, as well as realization of contactless smart cards.
