Abstract
The main challenge in engineering education for embedded systems is an interdisciplinary approach which has to be taken when designing the curriculum. The main idea of this project is the implementation of the platform which will be used in the embedded systems curriculum. This platform shall facilitate a novel development of universal approach for learning process management in the area of information and communication technologies. Students will not have to adjust to the new platform at the start of each subject and the faculties will reduce the costs by using the same resources on the laboratory exercises in several subjects. This platform will, as a result, lead to education of greater number of engineers in Serbia which will be skilled to solve complex problems and design complex systems, which will increase our competence in the fields of computer industry, system control, software systems, mobile communications, medical systems etc. The platform will realize the following learning objectives: 1) embedded microprocessors & computer architectures programming, 2) digital signal processing (audio, video and data) and its real-time implementation, 3) FPGA digital system design and testing, 4) networks & interfaces and 5) system integration. Results will be published on national and international conferences as well as in the main journals.
