Biography
Kristina Marković (1985) studied music composition at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. During her undergraduate and master studies, she was a student of prof. Vlastimir Trajković. She completed her studies successfully in 2012. She then enrolled in PhD studies of music composition with academician, prof. Isidora Žebeljan as her mentor, and she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation 2020. Her works were performed at prof. Milanka Mišević’s piano workshop concerts (2007); at KOMA' festival (2007-2009); an arrangement of Bartok's folk dances as part of the Cello Fest (2011), etc. She composed an original score for an author's film Urvidek, directed by Siniša Dugonjić and produced by the Academic Film Center (2011). Since 2012, she’s been an independent artist and actively collaborated with clients, mainly in the field of video games. From 2015 to 2019, she was employed as a composer and sound designer at the video game company Eipix Entertainment. She has worked on titles such as: Mystery Case Files, Myths of the world, Dark Parables, Haunted Manor, Hoppy Land, Farm On!, etc. In 2018, she collaborated with the same company on the Tales of Serbia project, where she participated in composing music for short films. Since 2017, she has been giving guest lectures at the SAE Institute on the topic of interactive music in video games. This is exactly the topic of research that the author conducts throughout her doctoral dissertation called BioShock 2 - music for a video game. After successfully defending her doctoral dissertation in 2020, she continues to develop in the field of education, cooperating as a lecturer at the interdisciplinary master’s academic programs at the University of Kragujevac and the University of Arts in Belgrade. The subjects she teaches on these programs deal with the specifics of music and sound in video games, which has been the focus of her interests, training and development for the last ten years. Since 2021, she’s been employed as Junior Researcher at FILUM in Kragujevac. Her area of research also concerns music and sound in video games. Since 2022, she’s been collaborating as a composer with the video game company Relax Gaming. Some of the titles she worked on include Grimm the Splitter, Hellcatraz 2, etc.
