Andrija Popović was born in Prijepolje on January 6, 1993. He completed his primary and secondary education in Nova Varoš. He enrolled in undergraduate academic studies in Law in 2012 and graduated in 2016 with an average grade of 9.73.
In the academic year 2016/2017, he enrolled in Master’s academic studies in Law, module Public Law, which he completed in October 2017 by defending his master’s thesis titled: “The Position of Journalists – Legal Aspect and General State in the Media.”
In the academic year 2017/2018, he enrolled in doctoral academic studies at the University of Kragujevac Faculty of Law, within the narrower scientific field of Commercial Law. He passed all exams and fulfilled all program requirements with an average grade of 9.60. He is currently working on his doctoral dissertation titled: “Profiling and Automated Processing of Personal Data in the Tourism Sector.”
During his studies, he received several awards for academic excellence, including the scholarship from the Fund for Young Talents of the Republic of Serbia, which was awarded to him twice.
He began his academic career in October 2017, when he was elected to the position of Teaching Associate. In 2019, he was elected to the research position of Research Trainee, and since 2020 he has held the position of Associate in Higher Education at the University of Kragujevac Faculty of Law.
He has conducted practical classes in various subjects within the fields of Public Law, Theory of State and Law, and Commercial Law, which also represent his primary areas of academic interest.
Within the narrower field of Theory of State and Law, he has conducted classes in the following subjects: Introduction to Law, Contemporary Legal Theories, Human Rights Protection, Sociology of Law, Nomotechnics, Writing and Presentation of Seminar and Master’s Papers, Interpretation of Law, Equality Protection, Legal Ethics, and Contemporary Political Theories.
Within the field of Public Law, he has conducted classes in Media Law and Electoral Law. Within Commercial Law, he has participated in teaching activities in Commercial Law, Consumer Protection Law, and Tourism Law.
According to student evaluation surveys assessing the quality of teaching staff, students have expressed a high level of satisfaction with his teaching performance. The evaluations by academic year are as follows:

He was engaged as a lecturer at the Legal Clinic for Anti-Discrimination, where he analyzed well-known case law examples related to various forms of discrimination. He also participated as a lecturer in the Legal Clinic for Labour, Social, and Administrative Law, where he introduced students to fundamental concepts of personal data protection.
He currently serves as the Coordinator for planning and implementation of support services for students from vulnerable social groups.
He has served as Secretary of the Department of Theory of State and Law, as well as Secretary of the editorial board of the scientific-professional journal Pravni stav.
He is a member of the Regional Association of Lawyers Šumadija.
He was also a member of the organizing committee of the scientific conference Development and Improvement of the Ombudsman Institution in the Function of Human Rights Protection, organized in 2023 by the University of Kragujevac Faculty of Law and the local Ombudsman of the City of Kragujevac.
