Biography
Maša Petrović, junior researcher, born in 1999 in Belgrade. She completed her elementary school and Philological High School, majoring in living languages (Italian language) in Belgrade. She graduated from the Faculty of Philology (University of Belgrade) in 2022 with the average grade 9, 77; her final paper was titled "The Journey of Alija Đerzelez" as the main work of the Ivo Andrić’s narrative opus". In 2023 she obtained her master’s degree (average grade of 10.00) with the master's thesis on the topic "Narrating Poetics of the Late Andrić (Collections The Faces and The House on Its Own)". Currently, she is a doctoral student at the Faculty of Philology (University of Belgrade). From June 2021 to September 2022, she volunteered at Vuk's Foundation in Belgrade on the project of creating term registers of Vuk's correspondence. From February to September 2023, she was engaged as a teaching assistant at the Metropolitan University in Belgrade, on the courses Organizational Behavior and Business Ethics and Communication. From October 2023 to May 2024, she implemented the professional practice program of the Ministry of Science "Talents in the Public Sector" at the Institute of Literature and Art in Belgrade, at the Department of Poetics of Modern and Contemporary Literature (supervisor PhD Svetlana Šeatović), where she worked as junior researcher. She is a member of Matica Srpska. During her undergraduate and master's studies, she was a scholarship recipient of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. In the last year of her undergraduate studies, as well as in her master's studies, she received a scholarship from the Fund for Young Talents of the Republic of Serbia for the best students in their final years of study in the Republic of Serbia. While in her studies, she was the recipient of awards for outstanding essays and final papers: the second Branko’s Award bestowed by Matica Srpska to the best student works created during undergraduate in the academic year 2021-2022, for the final paper "The Journey of Alija Đerzelez" as the main work of Ivo Andrić's narrative opus", the second award for the Essay on Dis's oeuvre within the 60th "Dis's Spring" (2023) for the essay "How sings Dis's lyrical subject about war: The image of war in the poetry of Vladislav Petković Dis". She is the recipient of the Commendation of the Faculty of Philology (University of Belgrade) for exceptional success in the study program of academic studies and for special achievements during the academic year 2022-2023. She presented papers and participated in the work of national and international conferences in Belgrade, Kragujevac, Niš, Banja Luka and Moscow. As a lecturer and interpreter of Dositej's literary work, from December 2022 to April 2023, she took part in the project named Naravoobučenija - a project of making artistic dolls based on the motifs of Dositej's fables. In August 2023, she was a lecturer at the summer school Classics of Serbian Literature, organized by the Department of Serbian Literature with South Slavic Literatures (University of Belgrade) and the Program Board of the scientific-educational cultural center "Vuk Karadžić" in Tršić. Main areas of interest in her previous research: Serbian literature of the 20th and 21st centuries, Andrić's poetics, interdisciplinarity of literature and other arts, literary criticism and literature teaching methodology. She speaks English (proficiency level B2), Italian (proficiency level B2, International Certificate of Proficiency in Italian: Certificato di Conoscenza della Lingua Italiana Livello B2 CELI 3) and Russian (proficiency level B1).
