Biography
Liljana Gushevska is a full professor in the Institute of National History in Skopje. Her scholarly interest is primarily focused on studying the Macedonian question in the 19th and early 20th centuries, especially the language isuue within the context of the Macedonian national movement. Additionally, a significant part of her research is dedicated to the history of Macedonian folk medicine, particularly medicine books (lekarstvenici), as a specific type of text written in the Macedonian vernacular. She is the author of numerous scholarly papers published in various domestic and international scholarly journals. She has contributed to numerous scholarly conferences in Macedonia and abroad. She has been a member of the organizing committees for both domestic and international scholarly symposia and conferences, and has participated in several national and international scholarly projects. She teaches MA and PhD courses at the Institute of National History, and has been teaching undergraduate courses in the Department of Macedonian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philology at the University of Tetovo for many years.
