Plant phenotyping system (PSI)
The Plant Phenotyping System (PSI) allows plant phenotyping on a plant-to-sensor basis with 5 different modules: - A 3D laser scanning plant module (which enables the correlation of the obtained 3D model with images taken by other modules); - RGB imaging module (for the measurement of visible plant parameters); - Multicolour fluorescence imaging module, including chlorophyll fluorescence imaging (for the quantification of chlorophyll and other fluorescent proteins, metabolites and dyes in plants); - Wide wavelength imaging module in the short-wave infrared wavelength range (for measuring water content in plants); - A thermal imaging module in the long-wave infrared wavelength range (to measure temperature differences in different parts of the plant). The phenotyping system also allows quantitative characterisation and thus evaluation of disease traits with much greater precision than was possible without this system.
