Combined, flexible furnace for fire resistance testing of building structures

The combined, flexible fire resistance oven for building structures allows for large-format testing of a wide range of building structures. The furnace consists of sections that allow the measurement of specimens up to 8 m x 4 m. It can be used for testing roof, ceiling, high or wide wall constructions and 3D details of joints between ceiling and wall constructions. The furnace simulates different fire phases including slow developing fires, controlled heat extraction fires, standard cellulose fires and extremely fast growing hydrocarbon fires. It also allows for long term testing to burst and the introduction of mechanical stresses during testing.
