Description
The faculty's basic activity is pedagogical which comprises university program in pharmacy and a three-year program in clinical biochemistry. Within its scientific-research work, the faculty is engaged in researching and discovering new compounds, technologies, therapeutic systems as well as in gaining new knowledge, methodology and procedures in all phases of production and evaluation of a new medicine by considering professional standards (procedure validation, authority (state) requirements to medicine manufacturers within the principles of GLP (good laboratory practice), GMP (good manufacture practice) and GPP (good pharmacy practice). By its scientific-research work the faculty takes part in the development and strategic plans of the national pharmaceutical industry as well as in global research trends through international projects in the field of pharmacy. The main strategic goals of the faculty's further scientific-research development are: - researching and discovering new selective ligands for receptors and enzymes as well as new biocompatible materials which may become a future starting point for developing new substances and new pharmaceutical forms, respectively. - creating new knowledge and inventing new means and methods of compounds' characterization considering transportation and distribution of substances in models and biosystems of growing complexity, as well from the viewpoint of ligand-receptor interactions. - researching new therapeutic systems with designed properties. - researching new specific diagnostic tests and other methods for simulation and control of therapy. - researching optimal pharmacoepidemiologic and pharmacoeconomic parameters and new therapeutic approaches.
