Abstract
The aim of our study is to investigate structure and ultrastructure, mechanics and chemical composition of certain structures of scolopidial organs (subgenual organ - SGO and femoral chordotonal organ) in the green lacewing, Chrysoperla carnea and related species. In functioning of the SGO in Chrysoperla carnea it is supposed that extracellular material which connects the velum with the leg wall has an important role. In the ant-lion species, Euroleon nostras, in some pest insects and in some other arthropods we intend to study the role of substrate vibration in ecology and behaviour of these animals. We plan to investigate biophysical properties of signal transmission via substrate (plant stems, sand).
