Abstract
The aim of the project is the monitoring of allergenic airborne pollen grains, establishing new monitoring stations and informing physicians and the public. In Ljubljana in 1998, the monitoring was conducted continuously. Quantity and quality analyses were carried out on a daily basis and published monthly in the Bulletin of the Hydrometeorological Institute of the Republic of Slovenia. Information was published in the media and sent to interested physicians. The presence of short ragweed pollen in the air of the Ljubljana region was confirmed. A new monitoring station was set up in Primorje – location Koper, with which we started the monitoring in the Submediterranean phytogeographical region.
