Abstract
The project consists of analysis, planning and design of high-speed model of Internet access over existing cable television system (CATV). As a part of the project, there will be an analysis of bi-dierctional transmission of digital information and research of possibilities for improvement of data transmission quality. The basic goal of the project is to offer solutions and directions for upgrade of the CATV and solutions in hardware and software equipment, which are necessary for bi-directional data transmission. The next goal of the project is to design and demonstrate multimedia applications like video, virtual reality and others, which demand high-speed data transmission. This way it would be possible to use the cable network more successfully for educational and research work from home.
