Abstract
The project Creativity, Work Inclusion and Therapies for Youth (Erasmus+, KA210-YOU) is intended for young people with intellectual disabilities up to the age of 30. The project involves two organizational units of ZUDV Dornava: the Work and Care Centre (VDC) and Institutional Care for Adults (IVO). Within the Work and Care Centre, we will prepare and carry out various workshops for young participants: (1) Woodworking, (2) Sewing and Embroidery, (3) Transfer Printing and Creative Workshops, and (4) Framing, Key Making and Integrated Employment, along with numerous other activities (mobility, learning workshops). The project is coordinated by the association Udruga Kamenčići from Šibenik, while the Institute for Training, Work and Care dr. Marijan Borštnar Dornava (Slovenia) participates as a project partner. The project also includes a partner from Hungary, Fogd a Kezem Alapítvány from Pécs.
Significance for science
The project contributes to the development of science by introducing and testing new interdisciplinary approaches in the field of creative therapies, work inclusion, and support methods for young people with intellectual disabilities, enabling the development of innovative work models, new pedagogical‑therapeutic practices, and empirically supported methods of social activation.
Significance for the country
The project holds significant importance for Slovenia’s development, as it strengthens professional and innovative approaches to the inclusion of young people with intellectual disabilities, contributing to a more inclusive, socially responsible, and development‑oriented society. At the same time, it encourages the creation of new practices that, in the long term, enhance human capital and improve the quality of support services in the country.
