Abstract
The research program includes following topics:
Particle, nuclear and atomic physics: Exploration of the CP violation in neutral B meson system with HERA-B spectrometer at DESY. Tests of the Standard Model predictions with the DELPHI spectrometer at CERN in electron - positron collisions at energies up to 200 GeV. Research of atomic inner-shell dynamics by absorption spectrometry with synchrotron light for studying collective excitations in the atom and for EXAFS structure analysis of disordered materials.
Condensed matter physics: Continuos and time resolved optical and infrared spectroscopy of transition metal oxides and organic charge transfer complexes. Theoretical investigations of models describing strongly correlated electrons in solid matter with emphasis on high temperature superconductors, heavy fermion compounds and anomalous metals. Modeling and theoretical investigations of ordering, defects, relaxation, fluctuations, flows, surface phenomena, and structural forces in some confined liquid crystals and more complex soft matter. The theory of polyelectrolytes, polymers, polymer liquid crystals and membranes, their mesoscopic and macroscopic properties and interactions in these systems, mediated by thermal fluctuations. Studies of dynamical properties of soft condensed matter by optical methods. Nonlinear optical phenomena in inhomogeneous and partially ordered systems.
Biophysics: Research and modeling of biophysical processes in cells and tissues.
Mathematical physics: Quantum dynamics of non-linear hamiltonian systems and studies of statistical behavior of quantum systems with respect to non-integrability and other dynamical properties of their classical counterparts. Emphasis on quantum systems with small number of degrees of freedom. Quantum field theory, quantum resonators.
