Abstract
The main goal of the research project is to analyze textbook publishing models in different EU- and EU- candidate countries. Adoption systems will be analyzed, and educational and technical standards for the production of the textbooks will be examined. As a subchapter of the research, role of the electronic publishing and it's convergence with traditional media in educational systems will be scrutinized. Research project will examine marketing techniques for eletronic and tradititional textbooks and educational materials and the level of competititvness of different national textbook publishing industries. The research project will analyze different price control mechanisms and different subvention models. In it's second part, Slovene textbook market after 1985 will be analyzed, with special emphasis on the changes of the adoption system and with special regard on the different marketing techniques of the publishers. In it's final part, the research project will produce some models for the regulation of the Slovene textbook market.
