In the research a theoretical analysis of concepts of citizenship education will be carried out first. A present state of affairs in the field of citizenship education at the level of primary and lower secondary school will be analysed. The Cross-Curricular Citizenship Education in principle extends over all subjects and vertically through primary and lower secondary school and it includes also organisation of the school life as far as it has consequences for the aims of citizenship education. We will prepare conceptual basis for the subject and for cross-curricular education and work out concrete cases for its practical implementation at school. The fundamental result of the research will be a manual for teachers and school management with concrete cases for carrying out the citizenship education in practice.
