Abstract
The aim of the project is to study by noninvasive NMR and MRI methods moisture content, dynamical transport processes in wood of living trees and in wood as material for different tree species and particular biological categories of wood. Goals of the proposed research are directed towards: (1) Find the correlation between moisture content of wood and MRI signal intensity, T1 and T2, (2) Study of sorption properties of wood, (3) Study of stationary diffusion in wood, (4) Study of wood impregnation, and (5) Study of water migration in healthy wood and in wood after mechanical injury.
