Abstract
The proposed research project is a rational continuation of the project (I.phase)* that was conducted by ECERS and was concluded in the year1996. Within this project the conceptual foundation for further work on this field was created. At the final point of the project the international scientific conference - 16th Conference Europe of Regions (November 16-18, 1995, Maribor) was organised, which confirmed the hypothesis set by the project and, with stating preconditions for development of the concrete concepts of transfrontier regional co-operation, represented in the same time the passing on to the second phase of the project. With current application we aim to the realisation of the II. phase of the previous project. With our collaborators from abroad we plan to elaborate a model of transfrontier regional co-operation on the case of North-Eastern Slovenia and its neighbouring regions.
