Important part of ECERS activites form organisation of scientific and expert gatherings, pedagogical work and editing and publishing activities. ECERS is the editoral office of the journal "Regional Contact", which is published once a year in English language. It is dedicated to the exchange of experience and ideas on regionalism, cross-border co-operation and cultural interchange between regions, preservation of cultural heritage of regions and ethnic groups and the protection of minorities in Europe. 4. ECERS closely cooperates with some relevant international organisations; especially with the international non-governmental organisation ISCOMET (International Scientific Conference Minorities for Europe of Tomorrow - an NGO with the consultative status with the Council of Europe) and with the international MFD Foundation for fostering the protection of cultural heritage of ethnic and religious minorities in South East Europe (both with the seat in Maribor).
