Abstract
In this work we followed the measurements of physical and chemical parameters of water in salmonid fish farms. The aim of this research is to perceive weather water sources are suitable for salmonid fish farming and also what kind of risk salmonid fish farming can represent for the environment.Dissolved oxygen (O2), temperature (oC), chemical oxygen demand (COD), biological oxygen demand (BOD), ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, pH, ferrum, cuprum in water of salmonid fish farms were evaluated at three places in the fish farm; at the inlet, in the middle of the farm and in the outlet of the farm. We were also following the impact of the water quality on the incidence of fish diseases. Most of the values were in the limits of the allowed standards for fish breeding. The exception was the values of ammonia that were in higher as recommended in all measured points. Besides the incidence of fish disease the inappropriate water quality indicates that many infectious diseases occur in a more serious form.
