Abstract
Abstract The aim of this interdisciplinary project is to uncover, fully explore and present ideas, models and programs from Serbian history as well as its present cultural production that will serve as a model for the (post)modern approach to issues of identity. These paradigms are a part of the Serbian heritage, as well as its contemporary cultural production. Therefore the project will present Serbia as a part of the European and broader international cultural spaces, place feminist theories and feminist movement in Serbia within the regional and the global context, and finally, through research on everyday life contribute to the understanding social and cultural transformations. The expectation is that the academia will legitimate gender equality and advance this as a form of acknowledging differences, which will be followed by practical outcome of recognizing the basic human right to have rights. The most effective strategy for this process is a legitimation is research of gender issues. Gender equality will then have a significant impact and may minimize the lack of tolerance to differences still present in the Serbian society and will also bring to bear on the complementary policy of cultural citizenship.
