Abstract
Modelling of the development and integration of Serbia into world trends in the light of economic, social and political commotions is a research project of a theoretical and empirical nature with elements of quantitative and comparative analysis.The analysis of the Serbian economy, the determinants of macroeconomic imbalance in the real and external sectors, Serbian development policy (the economic policy; the social policy; regional development; power industry development; ecological performances), furthermore, the analysis of the monetary policy and financial system, the democratic consolidation policies, the policy of scientific and technological development, founded on innovative knowledge-based policy, where knowledge is the basis of economic development, and the key future resource for the country and its stable competitive advantages, including the information and communication technologies development – all represent the subject matter of this research project.This research, based on how Serbia is facing the challenges of development, in an environment characterized by rapid economic, social and political changes, is expected to contribute empirical analyses that would assist in designing measures for improving the macroeconomic policy. Research into modelling sustainable development in some macroeconomic phenomena is expected to provide support in the creation of a vision of the future of Serbia and its economic, social and political positioning on the world scene.
