Abstract
The subject matter of research is the content and application of the regulation in the field of human and minority rights in Serbia, as well as the compatibility of the Serbian legislation with the European standards, as an indicator of the overall level of development of the rule of law and democracy. The research will include: study of international standards; critical analysis of the legal solutions contained in the national substantive and procedural law; evaluation of the consistency and compatibility of the existing legal solutions with the established international standards, which shall result in identifying possible solutions for improving the existing legislation; survey and analysis of the jurisprudence of the national and international bodies for the purpose of examining the quality and efficiency of legal protection; evaluation of the existing normative framework in terms of organization and competences of national bodies through which the state provides for the protection of human and minority rights, which is aimed at identifying drawbacks and proposing new solutions; assessment of the efficiency, expedience and transparency of the judicial and administrative proceedings; and determining the extent to which the Serbian citizens are informed about possibilities and options referring to protection of their human and minority rights.
