Abstract
The project points out that there is a strong need for research and development effort in the field of business reengineering and corporate IS development in Slovenia. It focuses on questions that will lead to the analysis of the recent knowledge on those topics world-wide, especially in the field of business process reengineering (BPR). Basing on this the methodological basis for reengineering in our environment will be made, as well as the implementation of already established techniques together with an evaluation of the newest trends in some typical organizations (corporations). Above all project tries to show all the opportunities offered by joining the BPR concept and the contraction of business cycle, as development basis of an information system that will be able to support the reengineering processes, together with changing the management system, and all other crucial changes needed for a shift in productivity and profitability of (business) organizations.
