Abstract
From the social point of view the civics (or citizenship) education is founded on transmitting of knowledge on public and political life to younger generations. From an indivual''s aspect this education is about apprehension of the social values and group identification. Political cahnges make a trong impact on the transimiting of social knowledge and skills as well as on the internalisation of values. The project will compare basic aspects of citizens'' knowledge and values among pupils in 22 contributing nations, Slovenia being one of them.
