Abstract
Research includes the study of conformation traits for which the environmental effects are estimated together with the heritability rates and their link to the longevity traits. The genetic parameters for the longevity of Brown, Simmental and Black and White cattle in Slovenia, as well as the environmental and genetic parameters for somatic cell count are established. The structure of the total merit index for different market orientation to milk, milk and meat or just meat production is presented. The results of urea content in the same milk samples and different laboratories in Slovenia, Czech Republic and Austria are compared.
