Significance for the country
Undoubtedly it is an open question for Europe today, whether it should base its development solely on economic growing or the standard of successfulness should be set in the way, that beside the economy also capture s all the other relevant social factors. A decision on this subject has undoubtedly got long-term consequences mot only for the field of sociality, culture, ecology etc., but it also declares the further development of Slovenian education and research sistem on all levels. In order to suitably articulate these development, the articulation surroundings need to be assured, what could be seen as the main contribution of culture. What in the information-communication system defines the »knowledge society«, includes essentially such a cultural and education mediation. We are dealing with a different paradigm of knowledge, which is so to speak simultaneously conceptualizing. In this we can become aware of the main endeavor of humanistic studies today, which does not that much stand on the natural sciences side, but in knowledge relation to the whole complex of informational production of knowledge, on the basis of what concerns and strives us as »sense«, which for itself needs »articulation«. If we compare the situation of humanistics in Slovenia to the situation in other European countries, it can be shown that there are fairly large differences, which, on the one hand, depend on tradition, and on the other a series of systematic factors of managing the educational, cultural, scientific and economic sector. It can be found that in Slovenia we tend to emphasize its substantial extension, while less attention is paid to what systematically affects its condition, and also the subjective social influence of humanistics
