Dr. Petra Robnik Verdnik is a researcher in the field of sport management, with a particular focus on the intersection of athlete career development, labour market integration, and organisational systems in sport. She obtained her Ph.D. in Organizational Sciences (University of Maribor, 2022), where her doctoral research addressed the development and sustainability of dual careers of athletes. Her work is positioned within the broader domain of social sciences, integrating perspectives from human resource management, education, and sport systems. Her research focuses on: dual career pathways of athletes, transitions from sport to employment, organisational and institutional support systems in sport, sport tourism and leisure, and interdisciplinary aspects of sport management. She has published in international peer-reviewed journals (WoS/Scopus indexed), contributed to scientific monographs, and actively participates in international research and capacity-building projects (Erasmus+, Horizon). Her work contributes to the development of evidence-based approaches to managing educational systems, human resources and careers within the sport sector. In addition to her research, she is actively involved in higher education, where she contributes to the development and delivery of interdisciplinary study programmes in sport management, linking academic knowledge with practical applications in the sport industry.
