Description
Social Protection Institute of the Republic of Slovenia (Inštitut Republike Slovenije za socialno varstvo-IRSSV) has been established by the Republic of Slovenia in 1996. On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia the executive rights and obligations are carried out by the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs of Republic of Slovenia. Thus an establishment has been constituted which will provide complete informational covering of the social care domain on the one and serve as a transfer medium for spreading information between diverse social care preformers on the other hand. Some other important acitivities will include vivid sphere of analytical activities by carrying out studies on current problems in connection present and future activities of the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs. In this frame IRSSV can be understood to act as service for the social care sector-however as a service in the most noble meaning of the word. Namely, its task is to provide the Sector with the relevant domestic and adapted foreign information on current problems. In this sense the role of the IRSSV is to present an intensive linkage between knowledge, obtained in different, however interlinked scientific fields in Slovenia and abroad, and needs of the Ministry of Labour, Familiy and Social affairs for analytical researches. At the same time the establishment of IRSSV has opened a specific and clearly articulated room where everybody who is able to offer a certain knowledge can test the applicability of it in order to give it free for concrete usage.
