Abstract
All regional levels, meaning from landscape-local to state and to factors of influence of the wider European space, will be included into geographical research of the regional development of Slovenia with its great natural and social-geographic variability. The research program shall be focused on: study of cities and processes of urbanization, sustainable development of the Alpine region, tourism and recreation, problematic of environment protection, first of all of over-average threatened areas, regional-development problematic of countryside, theoretic-methodological and didactic problems of profession, as well as geomorfological and some other natural elements and factors of the regional development. Taking into consideration that the subject of the research is very complex, the research shall include all natural and social-geographic elements, from geomorfological to social, settlement and economic. Problematic of the environment protection shall be pointed out, as well as, regarding the function of the Department, the problematic of geographic education (didactic) and the theory and methodology of the profession.
