Abstract
The program is dedicated to the basic scientific research in the field of psychology and related disciplines. The major aim of the program is further scientific development of psychology in Slovenia with resulting integration in global scientific trends in psychology and relevant practical consequencws for Slovenian scientific, cultural and economic development. The following central problems will be included as main topics of investigations in the frame of the program: - The theoretical and empirical verification of recent models of cognitive and conative aspects or dimensions of personality and the development of theoretical models in some important areas of personality and cognitive science (research of cognitive and conative determinants of personality structure, dynamics and development; research of common basic dimensions undrelying the functioning of human personality; research of intellectual functioning in the context of neurophysiological and personality factors; research of the gender and other cognitive schemata) - Theoretical and empirical research of cognitive, emotional and social aspects of life-span development (including investigations of play behavior) -Theoretical and empirical research of current learning and educational models - Theoretical and empirical research in the applicative fields of organizational, economical, educational, clinical, ecological, sport and traffic psychology (including research in ergonomy, leadership, stress management, quality of life, health,alcoholism, addiction, sport, traffic, environmental problems, crisis behavior, population restructuring) - Integrated research related to general psychological and especially sociopsychological problems of transitional processes in Slovenia (including the cross-national and cross-cultural investigations of mentality, attitudes, values, the research of national identity and multiculturality, the research of organizational and leadership culture) as well as processes concerning Eu accession and globalization. - Research devoted to development of methodological models, assessment techniques and research design.
