Abstract
Program group deals with two target groups (children and youth, and adults and the elderly), and with the synergy of research in both areas it aims to maximize the effects of interpretive and practical applicability of the results. In the area of children and youth the program group is going to deal with the content of the development trends and environmental influences on physical and motor development of Slovenian children and youth, while in adult and elderly population on the contents of physical exercise and quality of life of adults. Through its research the program group is trying to follow the latest epistemological trends in the development of anthropological kinesiology and to holistically address its research problems. Our research group focuses primarily on the integration of the effects of human movement with the social sciences pedagogy, sociology, psychology, economics, as well as with the field of medicine. In this context we constructed a few sub-projects which are aiming to increase the cross disciplinary synergy and to take a step forward in understanding the factors that define human movement.

Development trends and environmental influences on physical and motor development of Slovenian children and youth - identify trends in physical and motor development in the current population of children and youth in Slovenia - assessment of dietary habits in the current population of children and youth in Slovenia - determine the current health status of the population of children and youth in Slovenia - determine the relationship between motor and physical development, and morbidity in the current population of children and youth in Slovenia - construction of national standards of physical and motor development of children and youth, which can be used in Kinesiology and paediatric research - completion of one of the largest collections of data on population movement and physical characteristics of children in the world that allows you to create predictive models of physical and motor development - development of criteria for functional performance of children and youth in relation to the physical characteristics - comparison with some related researches performed in the world - interpretations of the model of motor abilities - construction the criteria of the influence of biological maturation on the physical performance of children and youth     II. Physical exercise and quality of life of adults - establishing links between different types of fitness training for older people and their bio-psycho-social response - development of new diagnostic technologies - construction of research group which brings together experts in the field of kinesiology, medicine, physiotherapy, social work and technical science that can solve this kind of interdisciplinary problems in the described areas of expertise - development of new research for their application in specific circumstances - different age groups, problems with physical apparatus, workload, recreation - development of new knowledge in the field of control and foot stability and development methodology for the active learning setting foot on the floor - development of methods for the diagnosis of fatigue - software development and diagnostic procedures for the analysis of fatigue - development of mobile and web based application for planning and control of physical exercise in cooperation with development centre Savinja from Žalec
Significance for the country
I. Development trends and environmental influences on physical and motor development of Slovenian children and youth - the importance of international recognition by integrating data in a project of the World Health Organisation - the importance of the development of the profession by providing central data processing on the physical and motor development of Slovenian children and youth - the importance of access to foreign knowledge, which is enabled by working with the World Health Organisation - the importance of developing appropriate policies on public health and education with the aim of reducing physical inactivity - the importance of raising awareness among the general public about the negative trends in physical and motor development of children and youth - the importance of education personnel with the training of personnel working in the field of sport for children and youth - the importance of the development of the profession in connection with the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Biotechnology, Institute of Public Health, Faculty of Arts and Paediatric Hospital   II.
