Abstract
The scope of the research program are: -econometric analyses in agriculture and modelling for needs of agricultural policy, -studies of effects of Slovenia’s incorporation into European integration processes, -studies of common foundations of agricultural and regional policy, and their consequences for Slovenia, -evaluation of competitiveness and effectiveness of Slovene agriculture and food processing industry, -following and analysis of socio-economic processes in agro-food sector and in rural areas (deagrarisation, restructuring, production tendencies, economic integrations, …), -following and analysis of economic categories (costs, income, demand, supply, …), -and processes (business integrations, production co-operation, …), -formation of business and development decision models, -simulation of effects of economic and political measures on development of agro-food sector and rural areas, - study of interactions between phenomena and processes on different segments of agro-food system (e.g.: influence of ageing of rural population on agricultural production structure, influence of price relations on investments into agriculture, …), -formation and operationalisation of business information systems, -economic evaluation of influences agriculture has on environment. Research program scoops following areas (research objects): -agrarian structure or agrarian structural tendencies, -business subjects in agriculture and food processing industry (farms, enterprises, co-operations, business associations), -marketing in agro-food sector, -agricultural policy, -regional policy, -food processing industry, -environment and agriculture.
