Description
Biotechnical Faculty (University of Ljubljana) consists of seven departments (Depts. of Agronomy, Biology, Forestry and Renewable Resources, Landscape Architecture, Food Science and Technology, Wood Science and Technology, Zootechnics), and an inter-departmental microbiology unit. The faculty is dedicated primarily to higher education, research, and other public service. Laboratory, field, and experimental plant oriented research is performed by the staff of more than 200 researchers (research capacity of about 70 full-time employees) and about 90 post-graduate students, supported by a 220 administrative and technical personnel. Research programs contribute to and expand knowledge, thereby serving the instructional needs of students, contributing to the professional advancement of the faculty, and enhancing scientific, technological, economic, social, and cultural progress of the state. The faculty research is directed to agronomy, animal husbandry, biology, forestry and re-newable resources, food science and technology, landscape architecture, microbiology, wood science and technology.
